Virtual Visitor creates virtual tours of places. Mostly hotels, resorts, public places, travel destinations, landmarks, office buildings, shopping centers, stores, factories, airplanes, and so on.
Unlike ordinary photographs, the ones here at the Virtual Visitor site are interactive. You can look to the left, the right, up and down. You can even look behind you. The spot on the tour from which you rotate 360 degrees is called a "node."
Several "nodes" can be linked together to form a complete tour of a place. From each node, the virtual visitor can click their mouse/cursor on a doorway, for example, and be instantly transported to the next node, which could then take them to the next node, and so on.
Quicktime VR is the first and foremost software in desktop virtual reality. You do not need special gloves or goggles. All anyone needs is an internet connection or a CD ROM player and a personal computer. The viewing software is free to download and easy to install.
Quicktime VR uses photographs not renderings.
Not only is QTVR fun to experience, it is a very practical and effective tool for sales, public relations, entertainment, and education.
