Although this home for girls has adequate facilities and an excellent staff, they still have MANY needs. They need clothing, school supplies, and money to help pay for food, healthcare and energy bills. None of the homes receive any government or church support.

The best way to send individual donations is to write a check to San Miguel Educational Foundation, or simply, SMEF.

  1. Indicate on the 'memo' line "Casa Hogar Santa Julia Don Bosco" for the little girls.
  2. Indicate on the 'memo' line "Casa Hogar Sollana Don Bosco" for the big girls.
  3. Indicate on the 'memo' line "Casa Hogar Santa Mexiquito Don Bosco" for the boys.

Mail the check to:
San Miguel Educational Foundation (SMEF)
c/o La Coneccion
220 N. Zapata Hwy. #11A
Laredo, TX 78043.

US donors will receive a tax deductible statement (SMEF is chartered in the US), and a letter of thanks from the Madre of the house. Each of the 3 homes is a separate legal entity.

for someone who speaks english, contact Susan Sargent about the older girls at Sollana, or, Leonard Rossen about the little girls at Santa Julia, or the boys at Mexiquito.

One thing that they usually do not need is parents. Most of these girls are not available for adoption. Most of these girls have parents, but for one reason or another are not able to take care of these children.
